Chalciope [1]

CHALCIŎPE, es, (⇒ Tab. VI.) des Aeetes Tochter, und Schwester der Medea, wurde von ihrem Vater, dem Phrirus zur Gemahlinn gegeben, mit welchem sie auch den Argus, Phrontis, Melas und Cylindrus, oder Cythorus zeugete. Apollod. L. I. c. 9. §. 1. Als aber nachher Aeetes, aus Mistrauen, dennoch den Phrixus auch hinrichten ließ, so macheten sich ihre Söhne mit der Flucht davon. Sie litten aber Schiffbruch, und Jason fand sie auf der Insel Dia. Er brachte sie ihrer Mutter wieder, wofür solche ihn mit der Medea bekannt machte, und also nicht wenig beytrug, daß es ihm in seinem Vorhaben glücket. Hygin. Fab. 3. & 21. & ad eum Muncker. l. c.
