CORYPHASIA, æ, Gr. Κορυφασία, ας, ein Beynamen der Minerva, welche ihren Tempel zu Pylus hatte, und, weil solche Stadt auf dem koryphasischen Vorgebirge stund, so hat sie daher auch solche Benennung bekommen. Pausan. Messen. c. 36. p. 285. Jedoch wollen auch einige ihr diesen Namen von der Koryphe, einer Tochter des Oceans, mit welcher sie Jupiter soll gezeuget haben, Cic. de N.D. lib. III. c. 23. p. 1199. b. gegeben wissen. Arnob. ap. Gyrald. Synt. XI. p. 345.
