Cynortes

Cynortes: CYNORTES, æ, Gr. Κυνόρτης, ου, (⇒ Tab. XXIV.) des Amyklas und der Diomede Sohn, und Bruder des Hyacinthus, hatte den Perieres zum Sohne, welcher mit der Gorgophone, des Perseus Tochter, den Tyndareus, Ikarius, Aphareus und Leucippus zeugete. Apollod. lib. III. c. 10. §. 3. Andere machen den Oebalus zu dessen Sohne, welcher erst die Gorgophone geheurathet haben soll, Eustath. ap. Galeum ad Apollod. l. c. und hingegen zu dessen Vater den Argalus, zum Großvater aber erst den Amyklas. Cf. Mezir. Comment. sur les Epitr. d'Ovid. T. I. p. 23. Er war aber König zu Lacedämon, und folgete dem Argalus in der Herrschaft. Pausan. Lacon. c. 1. p. 158.
