HAEMON, ŏnis, (⇒ Tab. XXII.) Kreons Sohn, liebete die Antigone gar sonderlich. Als aber sein Vater diese bey ihres Bruders, des Polynices, Grabe darum hinrichten ließ, daß sie denselben wider sein Verboth zur Erde bestatten lassen, so erstach er sich, auch den demselben. Ovid. Trist. Il. v. 402. & ad eum Comment. l. c. Nach andern sollte sie Hämon selbst umbringen. Weil er sie aber heimlich erhielt, und solches hernach durch ihrer beyder Sohn verrathen wurde, so zwang ihn Kreon, daß er sich und die Antigona zugleich hinrichten mußte, ungeachtet Herkules auch selbst für ihn bath.
