HYPERCHIRIA, æ, Gr. Ὑπερχειρία, εις, ein Beynamen der Juno, die in Lakonien ihren Tempel auf des Orakels Befehl, bekam, als der Eurotas sehr ausgetreten war. Sie wurde auch Venus Juno genannt, und pflegten vor derselben insonderheit die Mütter ihren Dienst abzustatten, um ihren Töchtern gute Ehen zu erbitten. Pausan. Lacon. c. 13. p. 183.
