LYCÉA, æ, Gr. Λυκεία, ας, ein Beynamen der Diana, welcher Hippolytus zu Trözene einen besondern Tempel erbauete, entweder weil er aus dasiger ganzen Gegend die Wölfe vertrieben, oder auch, weil seine Mutter, als eine Amazoninn, Lpcien zu ihrem Vaterlande hatte. Paus. Cor. c. 31. p. 144.
