PALAESTRA, æ, des Chorikus, Königs in Arkadien, Tochter, hatte ihre Händel mit dem Mercurius, und entdeckte ihm daher ihrer Brüder, des Plexippus und Enetus, Erfindung der Ringekunst, wofür er denn machte, daß ihr zu Ehren alles Ringen und Fechten Palæstra genannt wurde.
