Porrima

PORRĬMA, æ, nach einigen eine Schwester, nach andern aber nur eine Gefährtinn der Carmenta. Ovid. Fast. I. v. 633. & ad eum Paul. l. c. Sie hat den Namen von porro, fern; weil sie das, was fern, d.i. lange vorher, ist, oder das Vergangene besingt; dahingegen die Postverta, ihre Schwester, das besingt, was erst noch geschehen soll. Einige nennen sie Antevorta. Macrob. Sat. I. c. 7. und noch andere Prosa. Varro ap. Gell. l. XVI. c. 16. Sie machen aber alsdann eine Göttinn aus ihr, welche insonderheit mit der Geburt der Kinder zu thun haben und machen soll, daß solche recht, und nicht verkehrt, auf die Welt kommen sollen.
