SABBA, æ, eine Wahrsagerinn, welche die Hebräer, die über Palästina wohneten, unter die Sibyllen rechneten. Ihr Vater soll Berosus und ihre Mutter Erymanthe gewesen seyn. Einige nennen sie die babylonische, andere die ägyptische. Pausan. Phoc. c. 12. p. 631. Nach andern ist sie die chaldäische, und soll eigentlich Sambethe geheissen haben. Suidas v. Σίβυλλα. T.
