ILITHÝIA, æ, Gr. Ἐιλειδυῖα, ας, (⇒ Tab. X.) Jupiters und der Juno Tochter, Apollod. l. I. c. 3. §. 1. wurde, nach einigen, in Kreta, an dem Flusse Amnisus geboren, kam aber, nach andern, selbst von den Hyperboreern nach Delus, um der Latona in ihrer Geburt des Apollo und der Diana beyzustehen. Pausan. Att. c. 18. p. 31. Sie war also die Göttinn, die den kreißenden Frauen beystehen sollte, Id. Arcad. c. 32. p. 508. und also einerley mit der Lucina, Cnipping. ad Ovid. Met. IX. v. 283. wie auch mit der Pepromene, oder dem Schicksale, und sonst, nach einigen, noch älter, als Saturn selbst. Pausan. l. c. c. 21. p. 487. Ihren Tempel hatte sie zu Athen und Delos, Id. Att. c. 18. p. 31. zu Megara, Id. ib. c. 44. p. 82. zu Sparta, Id. Lacon. c. 17. p. 193. und an vielen andern Orten mehr. Sieh Lucina.
