TELÉA, æ, Gr. Τέλεια, ας, ein Beynamen der Juno, welchen sie insonderheit von dem Temenus bekam, als sie mit dem Jupiter vermählet war, da sie vorher παρθένος, Jungfer, und als sie sich wieder von ihm getrennet, χῆρα, Witwe, hieß. Pausan. Arcad. c. 22. p. 487. Sie wird daher bald Perfecta, bald Perfectrix, bald Nuptialis, genannt. Gyrald. Synt. III. p. 170. Oft drücket man es durch Adulta aus. Interpr. Pausan. l. c. & alibi. Es ist aber alles nicht richtig, weil sie eigentlich Pronuba sollte genannt werden. Voss. Theol. gent. l. II. c. 26. Sie wurde sonst unter solchem Namen zu Stymphalus, Pausan. l. c. zu Platäen, Id. Bœot. c. 2. p. 546. und anderweits mehr verehret. Vornehmlich opferten ihr Braut und Bräutigam bey Hochzeiten. Voss. l. c.
